I picked up my first camera when I was 12-years-old and I fell in love with the idea of freezing a moment in time. I reveled in being able to look at the picture and relive that moment in a person’s life.
I decided to change my passion for photography from a hobby into a business and started shooting professionally in 2005.
To me, the best pictures are candid shots. They show what is true to the individual and I love capturing that raw emotion. I cater my shoots to fit the individual or family’s specific needs and bring their unique vision to life. It’s important to me to build a bond with my clients and it is a joy to capture their true essence while watching them and their families grow. I work with an amazing team, who shares my passion for capturing and creating moments for our clients to cherish for a lifetime. To learn more about Demiko, please click here.
I wanted to use my skills behind the camera to serve a greater good and in 2016 founded the nonprofit Matters of the Heart. Its mission is to provide photography services to capture those moments that mean the most to people. Our focus is on single parents, families of those who are sick, military families, and those in transitional housing.
My son, Miles, accompanies me on many of my shoots and I strive to be a good example for him. I want him to learn the importance of paying attention to details, building positive relationships with others, and understanding the importance of giving back by helping others in need.
It is through the strong support of my family and my faith in God that I am able to share my gift with those who need it most.
